I was lucky enough to be able to work with LemonTech for their song of the summer, old soul! This is my second collab with this band, and my second post-grad commission! This film was created in TVPaint over the course of 7 months.
This is kind of a mixed-media collage piece. While animated entirely in 2D, in the middle of putting this together I found a scanner on the side of the road as I was walking around the city with a friend. I took it home and... it worked! and then ideas. I immediately started collecting scans of fabrics, papers and crafted practicals, and then animated those in After Effects to add some material texture to the world. The end result is our protagonist - Peanut - doing his salt hunt in a number of scrapbooked together environments.
